James Lowell Mullin, 81, of Oxford, son of the late Samuel Mullin and Martha Graham Mullin was born June 21, 1925, in Wideman, Ark. He died March 10, 2007, at Calico Rock Health Care Center.
He entered the Calico Rock Healthcare Center in January of 1985 to be with "Aunt Amanda." She had entered the home in December of 1984. Lowell came to live with Uncle Jim and Aunt Amanda in 1948 after the death of his parents. He became a Christian at an early age at the Liberty Church near his home.
He loved life and loved being able to help people in any way that he could. He especially enjoyed pushing other patients in their wheel chairs to the dining room for their meals or anything else he was asked to do. He did a lot of things for Aunt Amanda and she depended on him.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mary Mullin; a nephew, David Mullin; a niece, Rebecca Mullin; and a great-niece and nephew, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin (Dick) Mullin and John Mullin, a sister-in-law, Betty Mullin and a nephew, Samuel Mullin.
Services were March 14 at Cox-Blevins Chapel in Salem with burial following at Shaver Campground Cemetery at Oxford. Arrangements were by Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
