Fulton County Man faces drug charges

Thursday, July 21, 2005

A Fulton County man is expected to be charged with multiple drug offenses after a traffic stop July 17.

Bobby Dean Weaver, 51, was driving on Heart Road near Glencoe when he was stopped by law officers, said Brian Sanderson, investigator with the 16th Judicial district Drug Task Force.

Inside Weaver's vehicle, officers found a fully operational clandestine methamphetamine lab, Sanderson said.

Last year Weaver was convicted on multiple drug counts, including possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to use, both felonies.

During the raid at which Weaver was arrested last year, Danny Ramsey, administrator with the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force, lost a finger and severely injured his left hand.

The injury was caused by a flash bang that detonated in his hand. Flash bangs are devices that deliver an audio burst that stuns fleeing suspects.

Sanderson said Weaver was on parole when he was stopped last week.

Weaver is currently being held in the Fulton County jail. He had not been arraigned as of press time; no bond had been set.

Weaver's court date will be set in August.
