Wanda Lavern Risner died June 21, 2006, at her home in Thayer at the age of 61.
She was born Sept. 10, 1944, in Memphis, Tenn., the daughter of the late Archie Wallace Lawson and Alma Lucille (Ward) Lawson.
She was united in marriage March 30, 1961, to W.C. Risner Jr.
She loved spoiling her grandchildren and had many hobbies including sewing, gardening and working with jewelry.
She was a member of the Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, W.C. of the home in Thayer; four children, James Alan Risner, Sonya Wood, Mark Risner and wife Sheila and Monica Madden and husband Billy, all of Thayer; seven grandchildren, Casey Gardner, Makenzie Gardner, April Risner, Lucas Risner, Ceaira Madden, Pierce Wood and Taylor Madden, all of Thayer; one sister, Beth Luton of Knoxville, Tenn.; one niece, Melissa Beene; two special friends, Barb Williams and Coleen Stone, both of Thayer; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Archie Lawson Jr.
Memorial services were held June 24 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
Pallbearers were David Baldridge, Hubert Baldridge, Jimmy Baldridge, Bruce Baldridge, Phillip Baldridge and Glenn Angotti.
Honorary pallbearers were Brian Sanders, Michael Coffey, James Houston and Nicholas Houston.
