Beatrice N. (Lasley) Hayes, 86, of Ash Flat, Ark., died Oct. 26, 2007, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ark. She was born Feb. 9, 1921, in Schuyler County, Mo., the daughter of the late John and Hila Lasley. Beatrice married Bernard Hayes in 1936.
She lived many years in Lovilia, Iowa, where she operated a business and also in Albia, Iowa.
She enjoyed cooking, especially on the holidays, and fed many people who are alone and would not have had a good meal. She was always available to take someone to the doctor, the grocery store, or just for a visit. When she retired from business, she made Cherokee Village, Ark., her home for several years where she did convalescent work for many years. She was a member of the Lions Club and attended the Baptist Church. She later moved to the Homewood Village Apartments in Ash Flat, Ark.
Surviving include: three daughters, Helen Allen of Sheldon,?Mo., Ruth Ann Vitko of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Shirley Miano of Hardy, Ark.; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; two sisters, Bernice Kopke and Maxine White; two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Following cremation there will be a memorial service at Faby Cemetery in Lancaster, Mo., at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Sheriff's Ranch for boys and girls in Batesville, Ark. Arrangements are under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Ark.
