Edwin "Doyle" Goodwin, 63, of Evening Shade died Aug. 31, 2005, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born Dec. 13, 1941, at Ash Flat the son of John R. and Mary Francis Shands Goodman.
He was retired from Conagra in Batesville after 32 years of service and was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Goodman of the home; two sons -- Wayne Goodman of Cave City and Terry Goodman of Booneville; one daughter, Brenda Duckett of Sidney; one brother, Johnny Glen Goodman of DeSha; two sisters -- Lee Beismyer of Pevely, Mo., and Jeanie Jackson of Evening Shade; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephew and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers - Odis Carl Goodman, Cecil Goodman, Elmer Goodman and Shelby Goodman; two sisters -- Iva McIntire and Dene Herron; and one granddaughter, Jessica Nichole Goodman.
The funeral service was held on Sept. 3 at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Ron Canard officiating.
Burial followed in the Maxville Cemetery located north of Cave City with arrangements under the direction of Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City, Ark.
Pallbearers were J.T. Duncan, Scott Goodman, Kenny Goodman, Bobby Goodman, Dennis Rogers and Ernie Ford.
Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Beismyer, Kevin Beismyer, James Estes, James Flynn and Buzz Foreman.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Doyle Goodman family to help with medical expenses.
