Edna D. Ketchens, of Salem, Ark., daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Carrie (Evans) Nugent, was born Dec. 17, 1921, at French Fork, La. She died Dec. 15, 2007, at the Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Ark., at the age of 85.
She was united in marriage to Cyrus B. Ketchens Sr. in the summer of 1942, in Jena, La.
She worked as a homemaker and farmer.
She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by: a son, Cyrus Boone Ketchens Jr. and wife Juanette of Sturkie, Ark.; a daughter, Gail Elaine Barron and husband Joe of Jena, La.; three sisters, Clara Laird and husband Junior of Alexandria, La., Flossie Weaver of Jena, La., and Jessie Young of Sarasota, Fla.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Cyrus B. Ketchens Sr.; her parents; two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held Dec. 19 at the Hixon Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Jena, La. Burial followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery at Rhinehart, La., with the arrangements under the direction of the Hixon Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Local arrangements by Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
Pallbearers were Charles Boone Ketchens, Cody Wright, Ronnie Laird, Vernon Kuhn, Howard Macklin and Bobby Ketchens.
Honorary pallbearers were Blake Ketchens, Tony Dupuis, Matt Elliott and Paul Breland.
