Kerr, Ray announce wedding plans

Howard D. and Elaine Kerr of Bentonville and Rev. Herbert Lynn and Jo Ray of Springdale announce the engagement of their children, Whitney Leigh Kerr and John Herbert Ray.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a dual master's in counseling and personnel. She is employed as a customer forecast and replenishment planner for Unilever.

She is the granddaughter of the late W.M. Williams and Edith Williams McGhee of Hot Springs Village and the late Howard C. and Maxine Kerr of Mt. Pleasant.

The prospective groom holds a bachelor's degree in political science and will graduate from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., in May. He will be commissioned as an ensign in the United States Navy. He has been accepted and will attend the U.S. Nuclear Power School in Charleston, N.C., in September.

He is the grandson of the late Lyman H. and Floy Spencer Ray of Harrisburg, and the late Harry B. and Ruth Aday Colay of Magnolia.

The wedding will be held at 11 a.m. June 3 at First Baptist Church in Bentonville.
