Cledis Wessley, Rash, of Salem, son of the late Harry Lee and Audrey May Hanvey Rash, was born Sept. 12, 1935, in Black Rock, Ark. He died April 10, 2006, at his home in Salem at the age of 70 years.
He was united in marriage to Marie Gorretti Worley on June 30, 1956, at Mesa, Ariz., and to this union five children were born. He was a farmer and a member of Saddle Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, George Rash of Wiseman, Ark., Jimmie Rash of Salem, Robert Rash of Salem, and Cledis Ray "Buddy" Rash of Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter, Connie Burch of Wiseman; three brothers, Gene Rash of Velvet Ridge, Ark., Harry Lee Rash of Velvet Ridge, and Ray Rash of Florence, Ariz; two sisters, Viola Gonzales of Phoenix, Ariz., and Betty Millard of Phoenix; three grandsons; five granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a granddaughter and two brothers.
Memorial services were held April 16 at the Saddle Baptist Church with Bro. Gary Arnold officiating. Interment was April 19 in the Valley of the Sun Cemetery in Chandler, Ariz., with arrangements under the direction of Valley of the Sun Mortuary in Chandler.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
