GRANT: The Missouri Sheep Merchandising Council has awarded the Couch High School Family and Consumer Science department a grant of $200. Teacher Teresa Holder said the grant will be used to purchase American lamb meat. She said the sheep council thinks if consumption of lamb is going to increase the effort needs to start with young people. She said the main objective is for Missouri youth to have the opportunity to prepare and taste lamb meat. The students at the school had the opportunity to learn about different cuts of lamb as well as the nutritional value of the meat. Students then selected lamb recipes and actually prepared a variety of recipes using lamb.
