Physical Therapy Specialists Clinic held its 8th Annual Golf Tournament at the Mountain View Golf Course July 16.
Proceeds from the event are used toward the endowment of nine memorial college scholarships awarded annually to area high school seniors.
Event organizers were honored at this year's tournament to have many scholarship honoree family members present throughout the day, including Norma Hathcock and Kip and Darla Spalding, who represented Marisa Hathcock-Spalding; Maggie and Danny Simers and Katherine Best representing Tyler Simers; and Jerry and Judy McGoldrick representing Julie McGoldrick.
Several of PTSC's scholarship board members also participated in events throughout the day.
Four scholarship recipients attended the tournament this year: Dasha Frahley of Thayer; April White of Willow Springs; Adam Carrell of West Plains; and Lacy Morris of Mountain Grove.
Rachel Douglass of Mountain Grove, a past scholarship recipient, recently graduated from UMKC Medical School and is now completing her internship; Leah Smith will begin medical school this fall and Amy Gleghorn will begin law school this fall, both will be attending the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Organizers also thank Stan Watson and his staff at Pizza Inn in Mountain View for providing lunch to golfers and staff members. Dennis' Meat Shop provided the barbecue for participants. Dewayne and Marie Hensley, Rick and Lois Frazier, Cystic Fibrosis representatives, prepared the dinner. These representatives have been involved in each of the eight tournaments.
Four local charities were also involved in the tournament: Ozark Independent Living -- Carol Parrish and Anne Jackson; C.A.S.A. -- Chrys Fischer; Agape House -- Steve Duffey; and Cystic Fibrosis -- Rick and Lois Frazier, Dewayne and Marie Hensley, and Jessica Joice.
This year's tournament raised approximately $35,000. After all expenses, the four charities divided a combined total of $6,700; organizers have placed an additional $13,500 into the endowment; the live auction raised approximately $4,000, with the silent auction raising approximately $2,200.
