A Viola woman, her son and a Brockwell woman were injured in a two-vehicle wreck March 9 at the intersection of Highway 62 and Byron Road in Salem.

According to the Salem Police Department, Amy J. Loosey, 15, was turning her 1994 Dodge Neon from the westbound turning lane at the Byron intersection on Highway 62 when a car driven by Jeannie Foster hit her in the passenger side.

Foster's 17-year-old son, Mike Foster, injured his leg after the air-bag discharged in his mother's 1997 Buick Le Sabre, said Salem Police officer Mark Long.

Long said both Fosters and Loosey were treated at the Fulton County Hospital and released.

"She (Loosey) pulled out in front of Mrs. Foster and that's what caused the accident," Long said.

Charges against Loosey had not been filed as of press time.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Weather was not a factor in the wreck, Long said.
