Voyde Theodore Qualls, 96, of Salem, son of the late Joseph Britain Qualls and Mary Catherine Duke Qualls, was born May 31, 1908, in Sharp County, Ark. He died May 6, 2005, at Fulton County Nursing Home in Salem.
He was united in marriage to Alene Dumes and later to Mae Keylon. He was a farmer and a sawmill worker. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his children -- Ray and Mariane Qualls and Myrtle May Qualls all of Springdale; a step-daughter, Lucy and Neal Shirley of Converse, Ind.; a sister, Irma Qualls Hailey of Jonesboro; grandchildren -- Bradley and Christel Qualls of Lawton, Okla., and Jason Qualls of Springdale; a step-great-grandchild, Victoria Ashley Ugalde.
He was preceded in death by both wives; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Qualls; brothers and sisters -- Meutral Qualls, Edna Haley, Alvin Dick Qualls, Alma Hailey, Enos Deuel Qualls, Ethel Weaver Meeker, John Henry Qualls, Lee A. Qualls, Offie A. Qualls, Mae Qualls, Mary Qualls and Myrtle Qualls.
A graveside service was held May 5 at Bear Creek Cemetery in Evening Shade with arrangements under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
