Gun raffle to benefit Veterans memorial

Thursday, September 6, 2007

American Veteran Committee members donated two shotguns for the December raffle. Renee Clay-Circle, Leonard Holden, Jr. and Nathan Circle donated shotguns that will be given away in December by the American Veteran Memorial located in Ash Flat.

Leonard Holden donated a 1983 Ducks Unlimited Special Edition Shotgun. The B-80 is a Browning semi automatic shotgun, which features the Commemorating Flyway -- Central Edition. This gun is valued at over $2,000 and would be a great addition to any collection.

Renee Clay and Nathan Circle donated a 2007 National Turkey Federation Gold Seal Mossberg 500A 12 gauge shotgun. This gun is valued at $750.

Tickets went on sale Sept. 1, and the drawing will be held Dec. 20.

Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. All proceeds will benefit the Veterans Memorial located in Ash Flat. Two winning tickets will be drawn, one for each gun. Tickets can be purchased from any committee member, local sporting good stores and Ash Flat City Hall at 870-994-7324.

Veterans Memorial Committee members include: Brien Nix Hall, chairman; Leonard Holden, co-chairman, Charlotte Goodwin, treasurer, Renee Clay-Circle, Nelson Gatewood, Sharron Mathis, Randy McComas, Mike Byron, Carlota Carver, Roberta Shankle and Doug Wortham.
