Duane Roy Robison Jr., was born May 25, 1951, in Springfield, Ill., the son of Duane Roy Robison Sr. and Etta May DeWitt Robison and died Aug. 27, 2007, at his home in Koshkonong, Mo., at the age of 56.
He was united in marriage July 30, 1976, at Koshkonong, Mo., to LuAnn Willbanks.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam Era, where he received numerous awards and decorations for service rendered to his country.
He was an auto mechanic and was employed by Farmers Co-Op for 22 years. For the past seven years he was an over-the-road truck driver for Maverick Trucking.
He enjoyed race car driving and along with his brother-in-law, raced cars at the old West Plains Speedway.
Duane was a member of the United Methodist Church and was also an Eagle Scout, both in Williamsville, Ill.
He is survived by: his wife, LuAnn, of the family home in Koshkonong; three children, Jeremy Robison and wife, Kendra of Emden, Ill., Joshua Robison and friend, Nicole Freligh of Auburn, Ill., and Jennifer Robinson and friend, Chris Carter of Koshkonong; six grandchildren, Dalton, Carter, Jonah, Karissa, Reagan and Breana; his mother, Etta May Robison of Williamsville, Ill.; two sisters, Carol Harris and husband, Bob of Williamsville, Ill., and Lois Thompson of Williamsville, Ill.; his mother-in-law, Juanita Willbanks of Koshkonong; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by: his father; one brother, Thomas Robison; two brothers-in-law, Louie Thompson and Danny Willbanks; his father-in-law, Verble Willbanks; and one nephew, Cameron Willbanks.
Funeral services were held on Sept. 1 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with James Ray and Johnny?Holesapple both officiating. Burial followed in the Koshkonong Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
