The Thayer USBC held its annual Men's Tournament on Jan. 7-8 at Thayer Lanes.
Top money in team competition went to the "Hillbillies" -- James Stark, Walter Phipps, Ron McCann and Frank Rudesill.
Second-place winners were the "Four Musketeers" -- Frank Rudesill, Martin Gray, R.C. Cali and Dennis Walters.
Third-place winners were the "Out to Lunch Bunch" -- Art Wilder, Pat Wilder, Denzil Hensely and James Collins.
In the doubles' contest, James Stark and Ron McCann placed first; Walter Phipps and Frank Rudesill came in second, and Bill Robertson and Randy Guffey earned third-place money.
Singles winners were Davod Russback in first with a 654, James Stark in second at 652, and R.C. Cali in third with 645.
All-Events showed James Stark in first, Frank Rudesill in second, and Pat Wilder in the third spot.
High-game scratch honors and high-series scratch honors went to Pat Wilder with a 268 game and a 665 series.
The next tournament for Thayer USBC will be the Mixed Tournament where local champions will be determined. The tournament will consist of a team event where two men and two women will compete. The second event will be doubles with one man and one woman. The tournament is scheduled for April 1 and 2 at Thayer Lanes. Forms for entry will be available Feb. 27 at Thayer Lanes.
The Women's Tournament was held on Jan. 14-15.
Thayer Lanes' team placed first with members Rosa Hudson, Pat Garcia, Jennifer Huckabee and Marcia Richey.
Second-place team was the "Misfits," made up of Nancy Anders, Roxann Powell, Nancy Hahn and Diane Mitchell.
Third-place honors went to the "Bobble Heads" -- Linda Walters, Judy Smith, Kay Hensley and Jo Wright.
In doubles' play, Nancy Anders and Roxann Powell placed first; Lovie Guffey and Shirley Gardner came in second; and Dorothy Manker and May Beth Bradford took third.
Singles competition had co-winners, a mother and daughter bowled to a tie of 655 -- Marcia Richey and Alicia White.
Third place with a 650 series was Jennifer Huckabee.
All-Events winners were Nancy Anders in first, Marcia Richey in second, and Jennifer Huckabee in third.
Marcia Richey also had the high game of 217 and the high series of 565.
