Fourth-, fifth-grade Hounds go unbeaten on year

The Salem Greyhound Mighty Mite football squads traveled to Mountain View Nov. 5 to wrap up the 2005 season with an afternoon of action with the Yellowjackets.

At the end of they day, the teams ended up splitting wins, and the fourth- and fith-grade Hounds put the caps on a pair of unbeaten seasons with wins over Mountain View.

The third-grade Hounds started the day off with a 32-0 loss to Mountain View.

Next up, Salem's fourth-grade squad ran its record to 8-0 with a 28-6 win over the fourth-grade Yellowjackets.

The fifth-graders from Salem then followed suit by knocking off Mountain View 12-6 to keep their unbetaen streak going, ending the year with a 7-0-1 mark.

Salem ended its Mighty Mite season as the sixth-grade Greyhounds fell to Mountain View 18-6.

The fourth-and fifth-grade Hounds, made up of players from Salem, ICC, Viola and Calico Rock, will travel to Cabot Nov. 19 and 20 to take part in a 10-and-under All-Star Game.
