Clarence L. Collister Sr., 81, of Norman, Okla., died Jan. 29, 2008, at Denton, Texas, Presbyterian Hospital.
He retired from both the U.S. Air Force and federal civil service and was a combat veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.
He was married to Laura Lucille Collister, who preceded him in death in 1987.
He is survived by: his sons, Clarence L. Collister Jr. and wife, Judith of Lake Ozark, Mo., and Lawrence C. Collister and wife, Rhonda, of Denton, Texas; a brother, Lionel Collister and wife, Francis, of Columbia, Mo.; granchildren, JoBeth and Justin Collister of Hannah, Ohio, Aubrea Laura and Caelyn Katherine Collister of Denton, Texas; step-granddaughter Justine Hook of Lake Ozark, Mo.; a step-great-granddaughter; and his very special friend, Rebecca Adams.
He was preceded in death by: his sister, Louise Gowans; and a brother, William A.D. Colister.
Services were held Feb. 2 at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman, Okla. Military graveside services for the family were held on Feb. 4 at the Fairview Cemetery in Salem, Ark., with arrangements under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Okla. Local arrangements were by Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
