Couch man arrested on drug charges

BUSTED: Five pot plants, all two to three feet tall, were seized at the Steve Carsen home in Couch. He has been charged with several illegal drug violations, including manufacturing marijuana.
OREGON COUNTY -- A Couch man was jailed and charged with illegally growing marijuana after Sheriff Tim Ward and Chief Deputy Eric King paid the man a visit at his home in Couch.

Steve Carsen, 42, is charged with distributing, delivering and manufacturing a controlled substance, marijuana, a class B felony.

Ward said when he and King arrived at the Carsen residence he saw marijuana growing on the property and on property adjoining Carsen's. He asked for permission to search the property and Carsen led the officers to where the marijuana was planted.

Ward said five plants in all were seized. They were all from two to three feet tall.

Carsen posted a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in Oregon County July 6 on the drug charges.
