Carrie Elizabeth Dockins Owens, 98, of Forty-Four died Feb. 19, 2006, at the Community Medical Center of Izard County in Calico Rock.

She was born April 25, 1907, daughter of the late Ed and Minnie Smith Dockins at Wideman, Ark.

She was united in marriage to Tedie Thomas Owens on June 11, 1922, and to this union 13 children were born.

She was a homemaker and she believed in Jesus Christ.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Junior and Katherine Owens of Pineville, James Owens of the home, and Darrell and Betty Owens of Batesville; five daughters and sons-in-law, Lora Bell and Lyndell Barnes of Brockwell, Pauline and Mervela Moorehead of Moxee City, Wash., Muna and Glenn Holman of Wenatchee, Wash., Betty Owens and Jim Hall of Oxford, and Sally and Bill Gould of Mountain View, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Bethel Owens of Oxford; one son-in-law, Ellis Jones of Mountain Home; one sister, Zela Sanders of Calico Rock; 45 grandchildren; 85 great-grandchildren; 50 great-great-grandchildren; three great-great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Lehman Owens; four daughters, Faye Sherrell, Gracie Jones, twins Polly and Molly Owens; one sister; four brothers; and four grandchildren.

The funeral services were held Feb. 22 at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Calico Rock with Bro. Leon Moorehead and Bro. Gale Wooten officiating.

Interment followed in the Wideman Cemetery with arrangements being under the direction of the Howard Funeral Home of Calico Rock.

Pallbearers included Mark Owens, Kenny Owens, Robert Blair, Earl Barnes, David Owens and Donnie Sherrell.

Honorary pallbearers included Gordon Owens, Ronald Owens, Larry Owens and Bobby Blair.
