Charles Alvy Woten, 75, died Dec. 11, 2005, at his residence in Coal City. He was born in Sharp County, Ark., on Nov. 28, 1930, the son of Arlonso Franklin and Lillie Fay Shupp Woten.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and worked for many years as a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, whom the married Dec. 29, 1979, Deloris A. Myers Woten of Coal City; three sons, Michael Woten of Mena, Ark., Martin Woten of Hardy and Larry Woten of West Plains, Mo.; a daughter, Marjorie Madden of New Cumberland, Pa., one step-son, John Hutchens of Wilmore, Ky., four stepdaughters, Sharon Gunter of Louisville, Ky., Rita Hall of Coal City, Stella Hutchens of Zionsville and Cynthia Bloyd of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, Lloyd Woten of Waynetown, three sisters, Dolly Bishop of Mammoth Spring; Daisy Thompson of Mammoth Spring, and Etta Upton of Pittsburg, Kan., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters and three brothers.
The funeral service was held Dec. 15 at the Welch and Welch Cornett Funeral Home Worthington Chapel.
Burial followed at Fiscus Cemetery in Coal City.
