Izard man faces drug charges

Bobby Grayden Connor, 18, a student at Melbourne School, was arrested Dec. 6 and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of an instrument of crime. Connor tested positive for having cocaine in his system, according to Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence.

Connor posted bond in the amount of $750 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility awaiting an appearance in circuit court.

John Bryant McDonald, 35, of Cherokee village was arrested Dec. 10 following a disturbance at a Melbourne apartment complex. McDonald was charged with violation of a protecting order, possession of a controlled substance and possession of an instrument of crime.

Additional charges are pending to include introducing contraband into a correctional facility. McDonald remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.

Four persons who appeared at the Izard County Detention Facility to inquire about the circumstances of Mcdonald's arrest were also arrested. James Willis McDonald, 18, was charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. James McDonald remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $1,825 bond.

Jeremiah C. Totman, 18, was also arrested and charged with public intoxication, possession of a controlled substance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Two juveniles, one male and one female, were charged with public intoxication and released to the custody of their parents.

Arthur Brett Tunniclift, 20, of Calico Rock was arrested Dec. 8 and charged with driving while intoxicated, second offense. Tunniclift remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of bond in the amount of $2,000.

Bobby H. Cox, 42, of Cabot was arrested Dec. 9 on charges of driving while intoxicated, second offense, and speeding. Cox posted bond Dec. 10 in the amount of $2,155 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility. On Dec. 11, Cox was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, third offense, and remains incarcerated.

William K. Frey, 45, of Melbourne was arrested Dec. 9 for domestic battering in the third degree, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. While incarcerated Frey was charged with additional counts of disorderly conduct. Frey remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on parole/probation hold.
