History book delayed until next year

Thursday, December 13, 2007

The Fulton County History Book Committee announced in July that they planned to have the books available in December 2007, but several delays at the publishing company with the proof setting and several photo mistakes by the publisher have made it impossible to complete in the time frame promised.

The book will contain about 1,100 family histories, as well as community histories, military photos, family tribute pages, business history pages and general county history. The total book should contain more than 500 pages.

"The History Book Committee apologizes for the delay," a spokesman said.

Gift certificates are available for anyone who had planned to give the book as a Christmas gift. The committee does not know the exact publishing date, but efforts are being made to have the book ready in the early months of 2008.

If you need a gift certificate, contact Carolyn Lewis at 870-895-2491.

Because of the delay, the publisher has allowed the committee to offer more advance copies at the advance price of $49.95 until Dec. 31 of this year. If you failed to order your book before the previous deadline, you still have time. Remember extra copies may be limited and at a much higher price.

Send your check for $49.95 plus $6 shipping if you can't pick it up to, Fulton County History Book, P.O. Box 768, Salem, AR 72576.
