Wilda Maye Hortense Russell, of Lanton, Mo., daughter of the late Albert Dewey Russell and Bessie Edith Hughes Russell, was born Sept. 19, 1928, in West Plains Mo. She died Feb. 26, 2008, at her home in Lanton at the age of 79.
She was employed for many years at a shoe factory and a lamp factory, and then spent the next 33 years with Con-Agra in Marshall, Mo., where she retired.
She was a Christian and a member of the Lanton Baptist Church.
She is survived by: friends she refered to as "adopted girls," Dorothy Smith Kerby and husband Harold and Ora Faye Ingram and husband, Kenny, and their families, Jason, Christina, Cody and Timothy Ingram; Mark, Lola, Levi and Dalton Smith; Charles and Marcia Kirby; Amanda Plegley; Kevin, Angela and Leisa Cunningham; Randy, Maggie, Leslie and Jacob Eagle Bear, Ashley Cunningham and fiancee, Adam Jenkins; Jesse Eagle Bear and fiancee, Kayla Oliver; and many other friends.
Her father and mother preceded her in death.
Services were held March 1 at Cox-Blevins Chapel with burial in State Line Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
