Eleanor Anderson McDougal, 78, of Stanton, Tenn., formerly of Russell, Ark., died Feb. 29, 2008, at a Brownsville, Tenn., hospital. She was born Sept. 27, 1929, at Cave City, Ark., the daughter of Fred and Ella Taylor Anderson. She was a homemaker, a member of the quilting guild in Memphis and a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Memphis.
Survivors include: three daughters, Teresa McDougal of Scott, Ark., Freda Barnett of Damascus, Ark., and Nanett McDougal-Dykes of Stanton, Tenn.; one brother, Everette Lee Anderson of Bald Knob; one sister, Gwen Battles of Sidney; four grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Cecil Loyal McDougal; and a sister, Barbara Anderson Neighbours.
Funeral services were held March 3 at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. David Wesley officiating. Burial followed in the Sullivan Cemetery located at Calamine with arrangements under the direction of the Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Phil Barnett, Tim Battles, Con Battles, John Quimby, Billy Knight and David Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers were Jim Neighbours, Johnny Battles and Everette Anderson.
