Loyd Salter, 67, of Desha died April 2, 2005, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Born May 3, 1937, at Locust Grove, he was the son of J.T. and Ida Bell Pace Presley.
He was co-owner of Patterson Salter Trucking Company in Batesville and a member of First Baptist Church of Desha.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Mae Butler Salter; three sons -- Keith Salter of Cordova, Tenn., Kenny Salter of Desha, and Kevin Salter of Southside; a daughter, Karen Edwards of Mount Pleasant; two brothers -- Floyd Salter of Batesville, and Douglas Presley of Locust Grove; a sister, Geraldine Patterson of Batesville; seven grandchildren -- Teigha Hall of Newark, April Salter of Southside, Brittani McClurg of Batesville, Lindsey Edwards and Jonathan Edwards, both of Mount Pleasant, and Madison Salter and Seth Salter, both of Southside; two great-grandchildren -- Alyssa Hennings of Southside, and Taigen Green of Newark.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral was April 5 at First Baptist Church of Desha with Troy Sharp officiating. Burial followed in Mount View Cemetery east of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were Carl Young, Rick Buie, Jason Conner, Jamel Korkis, Marty Rolins and Jim McClurg.
Honorary pallbearers were Leland Sandy, Leon James, Jerry Goff, Thomas Sellers and Randall Sutton.
