Alton teen faces burglary charges

Thursday, October 20, 2005

OREGON COUNTY -- An Alton teenager, Randy Hodo, was arrested by officers with the Oregon County Sheriff's Department last week on two counts of felony burglary.

Hodo, 17, was taken into custody Oct. 12. He posted a $4,000 bond and is scheduled to be in court Nov. 2.

Hodo is accused of stealing from an Alton business, South Side Tire and Muffler, on Dec. 9, 2004. He is charged with stealing two shotguns.

The business is owned and operated by Tommy and Teri Williams.

On the same date, Hodo is accused of entering the Alton High School Vocational Agricultural Building and stealing between $400 and $500.

The probation of Dixie Johnson Reddish of Thayer was revoked by Oregon County Associate Circuit Judge Jo Beth Prewitt Oct. 11. Reddish had been on probation following a drug conviction for the use of methamphetamine. Reddish tested positive for the drug last week while at a probation hearing. Judge Prewitt ordered her to serve a 120-day sentence in a drug treatment center at the state prison at Vandalia.

A Thayer teenager, Jonathan G. Kannedy, was arrested Oct. 12 on a Oregon County warrant charging hin with felony assault on school property.

Law enforcement officers said Kannedy, 17, a student at Koshkonong High School, injured another student on Thayer High School property by hitting him in the face and kicking him in the back.

Kannedy posted a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Oregon County Associate Circuit Court Nov. 16.
