Mildred Thompson Cate, 82, of Huntsville, formerly of Hardy, Ark., daughter of the late Elmer Thompson and Iona Armstrong Thompson, was born June 24, 1923, in Hardy.
She died Oct. 3, 2005 at Meadow View Nursing Home in Huntsville, Ark.
She was married to Francis Marion Cate in 1946. To this union three children were born. She was a homemaker and member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Michael Cate and wife, Cheryl of Huntsville, and Steven Cate and wife, Dianna of Georgetown, Texas; her sister, Daphine Johnson of Hardy; her grandchildren, Sara Cate, Christina Cate, Jason Cate and wife, Morgan and Leandra Cate; her great-grandchildren, Cameron Cate and Seth Tozer; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988; a son, Ronald Dean Cate; a sister, Alma Davis; a brother, Buddy Thompson; and her father and mother.
Graveside funeral services were held on Oct. 5 at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Cherokee Village, Ark., with arrangements under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
Memorials in her name may be made to the Friendship Club of Huntsville.
