Bonnie Darrlene Zimmer of Viola daughter of Ethel Amanda (Moore) Knapp and the late Darrell Eugene Knapp, was born April 20, 1957, in Helena, Ark. She died Aug. 27, 2005, at Viola at the age of 48.

Bonnie was united in marriage to Jerell Wayne Zimmer of Viola on Jan. 1, 1977, at Mountain Home, Ark. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and a nurse. Bonnie loved working with the Boy Scouts and she began working at the Pine Trail Reservation Boy Scout Camp many years ago. In 1997 Bonnie and Jerell became rangers in charge of Camp Cedar Valley Boy Scout Camp.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Jerell Wayne Zimmer of Viola; two sons, Michael Zimmer and wife Tracie of Bakersfield, Mo. and Darrell Zimmer of Elizabeth; two daughters, Erin Zimmer of Elizabeth and Amanda Zimmer of Viola; her mother, Ethel Knapp of Charlotte, N.C.; five brothers, Robert Knapp of Bryant, Ark., Donald Knapp of West Helena, Ark., James Knapp of Memphis, Tenn., Jerry Knapp of Manila, Ark. and Larry Knapp of Charlotte, N.C.; four sisters , Ramona Moneyhun of Bentonville, Ark., Carolyn Slane of Viola, Shirley Brister of West Helena, Ark, and LaWanna Newsom of Lambrook, Ark., three grandchildren, Chase Sigler, Laken Zimmer and Lindsey Zimmer; many nieces, nephews, and all the Zimmer family of Elizabeth; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Darrell Eugene Knapp; niece, Jeannie Knapp and nephew Jessie Zimmer.

Funeral services were held Aug. 30, at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment followed in the Elizabeth Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Matthew Zimmer, Jeremy Zimmer, Johnny Foster, John Smith, James Newsom and James Moneyhun. Honorary pallbearers were David Zimmer, Larry Slane, Allen Bush, Dennis Sammons, Larry Flagg and Boyd Dailey.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or Legacy Hospice.
