Doyle Wess, 68, of Bentonville, died Nov. 30, at Bentonville Manor Nursing Home in Bentonville.
He was born Nov. 12, 1937, at Wynne, Ark., to Lester Fallon Wess and Delma Wiline Griffin Wess.
He served in the U. S. Air Force as an Airman Second Class.
He was a resident of this area for 20 years, an auto mechanic and long haul truck driver.
He was Sheriff of Decatur for one year and a member of the Benton County Reserve Deputies.
He enjoyed dirt track racing and drove at Beaver Lake Speedway.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Virginia Carol Wess.
Survivors include five sons, Wayne Wess and Buddy Wess both of Oklahoma, Doyle Dean Wess of Bentonville, Robert Wess of Oklahoma and Timothy Wess of Texas; three daughters, Sherry Lucita Henderson of Gravette, Julia Simpkins of Bentonville and Tylinda Milstead of Fayetteville; three brothers, Tommy Lee Wess of Landale, N.C., Lester Wayne Wess of Cherokee Village, Ark., and Franklin Leonard Wess of Williford,; three sisters Norma Wanda Raper of Hot Springs, Ark., Nina Sue Bass of New Albany, Ind., and Danie Riddle of Tennessee; and 15 grandchildren.
The funeral was held Dec. 2 at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge with Pastor Raymond Scott officiating.
Burial followed in Williford Cemetery near Hardy, on Dec. 3. Arrangements were under the direction of the Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.
