Maxine Luella Christensen, 84, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Oct. 9, 2005, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home in Cedar Falls.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1921, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of the late Perry and Luella Mae Cowles.
She was united in marriage on Sept. 4 1949, to Paul G. Christensen in Waterloo. He passed away in 1984.
She graduated from West High School in Waterloo and from State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
She and Paul founded and operated the Christensen Construction Company.
She also worked part-time for the Horseshoe Bend Library as a librarian.
She was a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church in Horseshoe Bend, Ark.
Survivors include her son, Paul (Nancy) Christensen of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Dana Christensen of Cedar Falls, Meri Krisan (Stephen) Panther of Waterloo, and Jamie (Chris) Miller of Horseshoe Bend; one sister, Evagene Neimann of Memphis, Tenn., and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother and one sister.
Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in Maxine Christensen's name.
Funeral arangements were under the direction of Cremation Society of Eastern, Central, Western Iowa, and the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
