James "Jim" Harvey Wilkey, 83, of Highland, Ark., died Nov. 11, 2005, at his residence.

He was born April 27, 1922, in Villisca, Iowa, the son of Harold and Lula Wagaman Wilkey.

He was a member of the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He loved to play the harmonica and farming was his passion.

He served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Hyten Wilkey of the home; two sons and their spouses, Robert and Mary Wilkey of Lake Worth, Fla., and Randy and Jewell Wilkey of Coral Springs, Fla.; one stepson and his wife, Rick and Debbie Rodgers of Hot Springs; grandchildren, JoEllen Wilkey of Denver, Colo., Jennifer and Ken Moorehead, Susan Alstadt and David Mina and Angela Lewis all of Palm Beach County, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Emily and Jessica Morehead, Mariah and Jewell Lewis of Florida, and Lenny Martenez of Show Low, Ariz.; step-grandchildren Ricky and wife, Anna Rodgers of Portland, Ore., Chris and wife, Reanma Rodgers, Tina Rodgers, and David Rodgers all of Hot Springs.

The funeral service was held Nov. 14 at the First Landmark Bapist Church in Highland with visitation one hour before with Rev. Carl Faulkner officiating. Burial was Nov. 16 in the Crestview Memorial Park in Hot Springs, Ark.

Pallbearers were Robert Wilkey, Randy Wilkey, Jim Hyten, Rick Rodgers, Chris Rodgers and David Rodgers.

Memorials may be made to the First Landmark Baptist Church.
