Bertie Johnson Curtis, 100, of Cave City, Ark., died Nov. 13, 2005, at Woodlawn Nursing Home in Batesville.
Born April 4, 1905, in Emery, Ark., she was the daughter of L.D. Holley and Tinie McLeod Holley. She was a homemaker and a retired Cave City Grocery Store merchant.
She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Cave City.
Survivors include two granddaughters, Judy Tapp of Arlington, Texas and Linda Grado of Hurst, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Lashelle Davis, Jessica Strength, Eric Lookadoo, Joshua Tapp and Rachel Lookadoo; nine great-great-grandchildren, Madison Tapp, Taylor Strength, Sally Tapp, Hunter Joe Davis, Bailey Strength, Olivia Tapp, Chase Davis, Camryn Lookadoo and Trey Davis; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Dave Johnson, her second husband, Ell Curtis; her only son, Joe Paul Johnson; three infant siblings; and two sisters, Ethel Girtman and Nova Crigler.
Graveside services were held Nov. 15 at the Cave City Cemetery with Don Johnson officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City, Ark.
Pallbearers were Johnnie Tapp, Lynn Gardo, Bobby Barr, Harry Truman, Johnson, J.B. Johnson and Norman Johnson.
