A Horseshoe Bend woman was charged with careless driving after driving her car into the front of the Dollar General store in Horseshoe Bend Nov. 11.
Mary Martin, 83, said she was parking her 1989 Chevrolet Celebrity in the store's parking lot when she hit the gas instead of the brake and crashed into the front of the building.
Officer Carl Boles came onto the scene as Martin was backing her car back over to the parking curb.
According to Boles, there was little damage to Martin's car but the Dollar General building had a vertical crack from the ground to the top of the building and damage in the area where the car struck the building. He said there was damage to the inside wall of the building as well. Martin hit the building hard enough to knock over items that were stacked against the wall on the inside.
No one was injured in collision.
