A cement truck driver was injured when his truck overturned on Highway 62 west of Salem Sept. 13.
The driver, Barry Gann, 30, of Hardy, was driving on a downhill slope attempting to negotiate a curve when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck turned end over end.
According to Arkansas State Trooper Buck Foley, the truck exited on the north side of the highway, traveled approximately 302 feet and landed right side up in a nearby field.
Salem Police Chief Al Roark was one of the first officials at the scene of the accident.
Roark said, "This was one of the worst (wrecks) I've ever seen."
Gann was flown by AirEvac helicopter to St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo., where he is listed in fair condition.
