OREGON COUNTY -- A Mammoth Spring man has been charged with felony assault linked to an accident that occurred in Oregon County Sept. 20.
Douglas Brown, 26, was taken into custody Nov. 29. He posted a $4,600 bond and was released from the Oregon County Jail.
According to a Troop G report filed at the time of the accident, a 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Brown ran off the left side of County Road 358 and struck a tree.
A passenger in the truck, Bryan Dunn, 25, of Mammoth Spring was injured in the accident. The assault charge stems from Dunn's injuries.
The accident occurred at 1:15 a.m. one-tenth mile south of Thayer.
Dunn was transported by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home.
Brown failed a sobriety test following the accident and was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Oregon County Associate Circuit Court Jan. 3.
A Thayer woman, Sonya L. Wood, was arrested Dec. 1 at the Brandsville Bar and charged with assault on a law enforcement officer.
Wood, 42, allegedly kicked Howell County Deputy Jared Peterman.
Peterman was called to the Brandsville Bar on Highway 63 and was told Wood had hit several vehicles in the bar parking lot with the vehicle she was driving. Wood had been removed from her vehicle and was being held until the officer arrived.
Peterman reported that as he questioned Wood she walked toward her car and he told her to stop and sit on the ground. She refused and kicked Peterman as he tried to arrest her, he said.
Wood posted a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Howell County Circuit Court Dec. 15.
