Ersie Gilbert, 92, of Oxford died Dec. 5, 2006, at the Pioneer Nursing and Rehab Center in Melbourne .

She was born on Jan. 16, 1914, to James Enoch and Nancy Adaline Jones Webb at Oxford.

She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Wideman.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Kennith Frazier of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, D.H. Webb of Kansas; one sister, Norene Everett of Oxford; two grandchildren, Laura Marlin with husband, Lance Marlin, of Sage, and Larron McClure of Oxford; two great-grandchildren, A.J. Marlin and Cody Marlin, both of Sage; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Riley Gilbert; one grandson, Jason Frazier; five brothers and one sister.

Services were held Dec. 8 at the Howard Funeral Home Chapel in Melbourne with Bro. Steve Stevenson officiating.

Interment followed in the Union Cemetery at Union.

Pallbearers were Curren Everett, Kim Yancey, Charles Webb, Clifton Rush, Winford Rush and Jack Grimmett.

Honorary pallbearers were Lance Marlin, Larron McClure, A.J. Marlin, Cody Marlin and Wayland Webb.
