Oaspy C. Taylor Jr., was born the son of Oaspy C. Taylor and Ida Baker Taylor on Sept. 16, 1945, in Windsor, Idaho, and died June 23, 2007, in St. Louis, Mo., at the age of 61.
He was united in marriage on Sept. 28, 1983, in Fenton, Mo., to Essie Jo Pender.
He was a carpenter, working in both commercial and residential construction in the St. Louis area for many years. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local 1839.
His hobbies included hunting and fishing.
He is survived by: his wife, Jo of the family home in Thayer; two daughters, Sandra Shrove of Rawlings, Wyo., and Terry Abner of Columbus, Ind.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Lumpkins of Rawlings, Wyo., Ashlei Wilson of Indianapolis, Ind., Meghan Kent of Columbus, Ind., and Noah Abner of Columbus, Ind.; two great-grandchildren, Amira Purdy and Charlee Lumpkins; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Oaspy and Ida Taylor; and two sisters, Mary Cotham and Louise Burch.
The funeral services were held June 27 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with James Lee officiating. Burial was in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
