Edna Yancey Smith, 99, of Evening Shade, Ark., was born March 4, 1908 in Oxford, Ark., daughter of the late Melvinia Porterfield Yancey and Walter Burton Yancey.
She was a homemaker; a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Evening Shade.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, quilting and she read her Bible every night.
She is survived by: two sons, Juney Smith of Evening Shade and R.V. Smith of Covington, Ga.; one daughter, Veda Horton of Mounds, Okla.; 10 grandchildren: Johnnie Qualls, Wayne Smith, Sue Smith, Gene Smith, Melissa Williamson, Karen Stroud, Rhonda Williams, Cynthia Alford, Judy Smith and Randy Smith; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Thurmon Smith; a daughter, Hazel Qualls; a granddaughter, Shelly Horton; four brothers; four sisters; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 31 at the Main Street Church of Christ in Evening Shade with Brian Reagan and David Cooper officiating.
Burial followed in the Sharp Cemetery with arrangements by Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City, Ark.
Pallbearers were Johnnie Qualls, Wayne Smith, Gene Smith, Randy Smith, Vernon Neal, Kim Yancey and Dwight Brandon.
Honorary pallbearers were Shane Cooper, Billy Paul Boyle, Shelton McFar-lin, Dwight Brandon and her grandchildren.
