Funeral services for Clarence Morgan Jr., 76, of West Plains, Mo., were held May 18, in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
He died May 14, 2007, in Pleasant Valley Manor. He was born Nov. 5, 1930, in Koshkonong, Mo., the son of Clarence Olvin and Clara Ellen Huff Morgan.
On Jan. 27, 1952, he was married at West Plains, Mo., to Earnest Christine "Chris" Driver who preceded him in death on Oct. 9, 2006.
He was a veteran, having served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Before his retirement, he was employed at Caterpiller for 30 years. Mr. Morgan was a member of the American Legion. He loved attending auctions, enjoyed tractors and raising cattle. He was of the General Baptist faith.
He is survived by: two children, Rickey Dean Morgan and wife Patti, Moody, Mo., and Vickey Dian Morgan, Mountain Home, Ark.; five grandchildren, Sgt. Jeff Cook and wife, Mary Beth, Rhonda Cook, Tim Cook, Ryan Morgan and wife Yuliya and PFC Calvin Morgan: three great-grandchildren, Branda Cook, Chae Cook and Caleb Cook; two brothers, Fred Morgan and wife Ann, Cazenovia, Ill., and Jolly Morgan and wife Aline, Liberty, Mo.; one sister, Ruby Brazeal and husband Bobby, West Plains; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, wife, one sister Ellen Hall, and six brothers, Roy, Virgil, Arnold, Carl, Marvin and Earl Morgan precede him in death.
Burial was at Free Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Free Union Cemetery or the American Legion and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
