Joanna Belle Brown, was born on Jan. 27, 1913, in Coeta, Okla., the daugher of the late William J. Warren and Dora Young Warren.

She died March 14, 2007, in Thayer, Mo., at the age of 94 years. She was united in marriage on Dec. 3, 1934, in West Plains, Mo., to Lawrence Brown who preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2003.

Besides being a homemaker, she enjoyed farm life, working beside her husband, Lawrence. She was known as a talented and wonderful cook, preparing many meals for her family. She was a Christian and faithfully attended the First Church of God in Thayer.

Survivors include one son, Joe Brown and wife, Kathryn of Mammoth Spring; five grandchildren, T.J. Brown and wife Wendy of Lebanon, Mo., Kathy Bowers and husband Bill of Mammoth Spring, Robert Brown and wife Kristy of Thayer, Mo., Keith Teichmer of Mammoth Spring and Ed Brown of Thayer, Mo.; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim Warren of Thayer, Mo.; two sisters, Bristow Mayo of Hamilton, Mont., and Dorothy Templin of Thayer, Mo.; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one granddaughter, Luanne Mock; four brothers, Harry, Fred, Jesse and John Warren; and four sisters, Gyla Purvis, Sybal Andreasen, Annie Brown and Eva Powell.

The funeral services were held on March 17 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with burial following in the Rose Hill Cemetery near Thayer. The arrangements were under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
