Clayta Maureen (Rogers) Ballard, age 66, of Ash Flat died March 16, 2007, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo.
She was born on Nov. 10, 1940, at Ash Flat, Ark., the daughter of Curtis and Glenda (Hamilton) Rogers.
She retired after 32 years as a teacher and principal of the Highland School District. She was a CASA volunteer and a member of the Highland First Assembly of God.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law Christina and Rick Mills of Ash Flat; two brothers, Boyce Rogers of Hot Springs and Maurice Rogers of Bentonville; one sister, Clella Wiles of Highland; five honorary grandchildren, Christina Brewer of Ash Flat, Preston Wiles and Spencer Wiles both of Highland, Madison Sellars and Marleigh Sellers both of Mountain Home; several nieces; and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, James Oscar Ballard; one son, Kevin James Ballard; and two brothers, Kenneth Rogers and Clifton Rogers.
The funeral services were held on March 18 at the Highland First Assembly of God with Rev. Tim Turner, Rev. Boyce Rogers and Johnny Curtis all officiating. Burial followed in the Wiles Cemetery at Ash Flat with arrangements under the direction of the Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Weldon Rogers, Michael Rogers, Marty Rogers, Mitchell Rogers, Carlton Rogers, Cary Rogers, Marc Rogers and Clint Wiles.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack Kimbrell, Ronnie Brogdon and Dr. Robert Walton.
