Delma Lee Sanders, of Elizabeth, Ark., beloved husband, father, grandfather and son of the late Fred Sanders and Dorcie Knapp Sanders, was born Dec. 31, 1922, in Wild Cherry, Ark. He died Oct. 19, 2005, at his home in rural Elizabeth at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 19 days.
He was married to Marie Foster on Sept. 16, 1944, at Viola. To this union two children were born.
He was a cattle farmer and grew vegetables, which he shared with his family and friends. In August of this year, he gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized.
Survivors include his wife, Marie, of the home; a daughter, Dorcile (Jim) Brink, of Mountain Home; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Sanders of Salem; grandchildren, Deion (Shelly) Sanders of Viola, Kassie (Ashley) Boles of Jonesboro, and Cecelia Lee (Kirk) Slone of Russellville; great-grandchildren, Carly Jo Sanders, Eden Kassandra Boles, Lila Adeline Boles, Owen Kirk Slone, and Simon Lee Slone; a sister, Shirlene (Roger) Tiedt of Parkville, Mo.; nieces, Sheila Raham and Sherry Lodes; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Lee Sanders; a brother, Norman Dale Sanders; his father and mother; and step-mother, Clarcie Rand Sanders.
The funeral service was held Oct. 22 at the Cox-Blevins Chapel with burial in Wild Cherry Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Cox Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
