Veda Mae Langston, of Salem, Ark., daughter of the late William Noel and Elzeffie (Mooney) Pendergrass, was born Dec. 14, 1931, in Ballard, Ark. She died July 9, 2007, at the Strafford Care Center in Strafford, Mo., at the age of 75.
She was united in marriage to Harold Norman "Cotton" Langston on Oct. 22, 1949, at Heart, Ark., and to this union one son was born. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Veda was a homemaker and a member of the Salem First Baptist Church.
She is survived by: a son Michael Langston and wife Carolyn of Strafford, Mo.; a grandson, Tad Langston and wife Angi of Strafford, Mo.; great-grandson, Hunter Langston of Strafford; a sister, Berniece Wells of Wenatchee, Wash.; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; parents; and sister, Delaphine Wolf.
Funeral services were held July 13 at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment followed in the Agnos Cemetery at Agnos, Ark. with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers were Luke Barker, Tad Langston, Bob Coleman, James Cantrell, Van Brown and Terry Langston.
