Johnny Loyd Cooper, 67, of Salem, Ark., son of the late Joseph Delbert and Jo Isaphine (Wells) Cooper, was born on Oct. 2, 1940, at Glencoe, Ark., He died April 18, 2008, at his home.

He was united in marriage to Linda Ann Horton on June 9, 1962, at Hardy, Ark. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and county road foreman for the Fulton County Road Department. He was of the church of Christ faith.

He is survived by: his wife, Linda Cooper of Salem; a son, Donald Cooper (Page) of Salem; a daughter, Treva Lynn Horwitz (Jeff) of Austin, Texas; a brother, James Cooper of Winter Haven, Fla.; four sisters, Williamet Griffith of Salem, Hazel Nickerson of Columbia, S.C., Jean Stephens of Maumelle, Ark., and Dianne Ferrell of Loveland, Colo.; four grandchildren, Crystal Cooper, Joey Cooper, Jesse Cooper and Aiden Horwitz; one great-granddaughter; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Joe Cooper; and two sisters, Novella Garrison and Donna Hatman.

Graveside services were held April 19 at the Humphries Cemetery in Glencoe. Inter-ment was in the Humphries Cemetery at Glencoe with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.

pallbearers were Max Tomlinson, Bill Hall, Morris Hall, Curren Everett, Johnny Mefford, Harry Brickey, John Emery, Richard Frazier, Jerry Smith and Ronnie Robbins.

Memorials preferred to the Humphries Cemetery Associa-tion or the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
