Claude Ancel Walker died March 31, 2008, in Yuba City, Calif. He was 99.
He was born Sept. 19, 1908, in Scotts Mills, Ore., the son of the late Joseph Walker and Susan Pickens.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was married to Catherine Walker on Aug. 6, 1932, in Waterloo, Ill.
He was a lumber mill owner and operator and was justice of the peace in Randolph County, Ark.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert, Gerald and Dean Walker; daughters, Linda Savage and Virginia George; 19 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Catherine Walker; and son, Claude Ancel Walker Jr.
Memorial services were held on April 5 at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City, Calif. Mr. Walker's grandsons, the Revs. Victor M. Savage and Al Moody of New Life Assembly Church in Marysville, both officiated.
The memorial service arrangements were under the direction of the Hooper and Weaver Mortuary, 459 Hollow Way, Nevada City, CA 95959.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Yuba Sutter Senior Hall in Yuba City.
