Lenard and Erma Baldridge will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2-4 p.m. on Aug. 13 at their home at 887 Wirth Road in Mammoth Spring. All family, friends and neighbors are welcome to attend. Omission of gifts is requested.
The couple married Aug. 25, 1956, in Sharp County. They bought a farm and built their present home on Wirth Road in 1960. They raised cattle and Lenard worked in timber. Erma worked alongside Lenard and provided a home for their children.
The couple still work together at their shop on Main Street in Hardy (The Treasure Chest) where Lenard sells craft lumber and Erma sells decorative glass and collectibles. During their 50 years the couple have spent most of their days together, had most of their meals together and spent very few nights apart.
Erma enjoys finding unique treasures on their annual glass-buying trips and Lenard enjoys hand crafting cedar birdhouses and meeting people who travel miles to find his varieties of wood. The couple also enjoy spending time with their three children and eight grandchildren.
The anniversary celebration is being hosted by their children -- David Baldridge, Sue Schuerenberg and Sharon Wrenfrow.
