Clifford O. Clanton, son of the late Charles Thelbert Clanton and Ana Elizabeth Crouch Clanton, was born Sept. 4, 1938, in Grandview, Texas. He died July 19, 2006, at his home near Wiseman, Ark., at the age of 67. Clanton was a heavy equipment operator, a butcher, a photographer and a stock farmer. He spent 12 years in the National Guard and the Army Reserve. He was a member of the Wiseman Baptist Church.
Cliff leaves to mourn his passing; his mother, Ana Clanton of Wiseman; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Doy Beck of Salem; one brother, Charles Clanton of Big Spring, Texas; a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Robert Hugh Clanton.
The funeral services were held July 22 at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne. Burial followed at Wiseman Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Danny Thomas Bill Hobbs, Jack Campbell, John Gray, Willie Moser and Michael Dillard.
Honorary pallbearer was Bill Grant.
