Norma C. Hayes, of Salem, daughter of the late Lehman Maguffee and Zora Golden Maguffee was born Feb. 9, 1914, in Fulton County, Ark. She died June 25, 2006, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem at the age of 92.
She was united in marriage to Willie K. (Buck) Sutherland. He preceded her in death in 1945 and she married William Allen Cone. He preceded her in death and she married Jim Hayes who died in 1991.
She was owner/operatior of restaurants in Mammoth Spring and Salem.
She was a member of the Salem Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughters, Pat Crouch and husband Dorwood of Salem, Jo Mathis of Searcy and Mary Scribner and husband Roye of Salem; her grandchildren, Patti Wallace, Vicki Rhodes, Brian Mathis, Kim Donna, Tracy Vest, Mark Scribner, Kevin Scribner and Jamie Vanaman; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Offie Lee Maguffee of Holden, Mo.; sisters, Rhudene Smith of Independene, Mo., and Edna Lou Trulson of Kennewick, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; a granddaughter, Kimberly Jo Mathis; son-in-law, Ken Mathis; brothers, Obed, Frehlyn, H.B. and J.N. Maguffee; sisters, Neama Turner and Naomi Webb; and her father and mother.
The funeal services were held June 28 at the Salem Church of Christ with burial following in the Salem Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
