A Mountain Home man is in the hospital after being struck by a car near Viola Aug. 17, according to authorities.
Amanda Cooley, 25, of Mountain Home struck John A. Ragland, 32, with her 1988 Honda Passport as he crossed Highway 62, authorities said. Ragland was part of the King's Ready Mix crew working on expanding the highway for the state, said Fulton County Deputy James Cantrell.
Cantrell said the weather was hot and clear.
Ragland was transferred to to a hospital in Springfield, Mo. His condition was unknown as of press time. Investigating Trooper Kenneth Foley said Ragland was already loaded onto the helicopter and on his way to the hospital when he arrived at the scene.
Cooley was not injured but could face charges pending investigation.
