Georgia Lee Cochran of Salem, Ark., daughter of the late James Lee Rains and Goldie Ann Webb Rains, was born Sept. 29, 1924, in Atlanta, Ga. She died Aug. 14, 2006, at Fulton County Hospital in Salem at the age of 81.
She was united in marriage to L. R. "Jack" Cochran June 26, 1943, in West Plains, Mo., and to this union five children were born. She was a homemaker, a seamstress, a quilter and a great cook. In her earlier years she was a typist for the telephone company, and for a time she was owner-operator of Rags and Things, a clothing store in Salem. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her children Donna (Bill) Roe of Sturkie, Terrisue (Joe) Parker of Fort Smith, Rena (Jay) McCall of Conway and Sarah (Reggie) Gleghorn of Salem; her grandchildren, Lyndel Roe, Jason Parker, John Leslie, Tennile Ellison, Ben Leslie, Kendra Cutsinger, Justin Gleghorn and Adam McCall; her great-grandchildren, Creston Roe, Braden and Bryson Love, Ashley, Austin and Owen Parker, Joshua Cutsinger and Jack Leslie.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack on Aug. 7, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jackie Lee Cochran, and her father and mother.
The funeral service was held Aug. 16 at Cox-Blevins Chapel in Salem. Burial followed in Salem Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
